EPISODE 3 The Dead Man's Map: Trouble at Blackwater Cay | Rapscallion RPG
Episode Description
It's Captain NetGru's birthday!
Naturally, the crew celebrates by heading to the pirate haven of Blackwater Cay for some much-needed liberty.
What could possibly go wrong?
Everything.
While enjoying their time ashore, the crew encounters a dying pirate carrying something far more valuable than gold:
A mysterious map.
The map points toward Gravewind Island, a legendary location that supposedly appears only when the supernatural Dead Tide rises.
But the crew isn't the only group interested in the map.
Enter:
CAPTAIN MARA VEX
Mara wants the map.
Her crew wants the map.
And apparently, they aren't interested in taking "no" for an answer.
The Dragon's Eye soon finds itself in a running battle with Mara's pirates, and when the smoke clears, her first mate lies dead.
Now Mara wants revenge.
The crew manages to escape Blackwater Cay—but Mara's pursuit doesn't end at the harbor.
She follows them across the sea.
The chase is on.

And Mara Vex isn't giving up.
 Our crew?
They're definitely not ordinary pirates.
Lance, the Gunslinger — played by RobertA former Queen's Guard sniper and an old acquaintance of Captain NetGru. Lance is the kind of pirate who would rather solve a problem from several hundred yards away.
Bob, the Matelot — played by MikeA hardworking sailor with his sidekick Richard and his beloved raccoon companion, Slim.
Sparrow, the Mountbank — played by DavidA mysterious figure in a dark hooded cloak carrying a silenced pistol. Sparrow also has a personal demon named Abzu, who has some rather murderous suggestions. His strange black rabbit's foot grants him access to illusions and telepathy.
Buxom Bess, the Swashbuckler — played by KellieA star-touched pirate whose past includes a mysterious cult, a magical tattoo, a beautiful sparkly cutlass given to her by a former lover, and a rival known as The Dark Deep.
Captain NetGru — played by GuenterTall, dark, handsome... and possibly possessed. NetGru has the unusual habit of talking to himself—but there's actually an old dead captain talking through him. He can walk through walls, wears a fantastic hat, and is accompanied by his beloved hyacinth macaw, Sapphire.
Oh... and did we mention that Captain NetGru once slapped the Queen?
Welcome aboard The Dragon's Eye.

All hands on deck! The Creative Play and Podcast Network sets sail into the weird and wonderful world of Rapscallion!
Before the treasure hunt begins, meet the colorful crew aboard a Legendary ship with a mysterious past—and a strange connection to magic.
The Dragon's Eye isn't your ordinary pirate vessel. Its Poseidon's Eye shines whenever magic is nearby, making it particularly useful when sailing the supernatural waters of the Great Sea.
And our crew?
They're definitely not ordinary pirates.

Welcome to the Circle of Veritas, a Candela Obscura Real Play podcast by the Creative Play and Podcast Network. In the gaslit streets of Newfair, our brave circle of investigators faces ancient horrors, uncovering secrets while battling the supernatural. As they strive to protect the fragile veil of reality, listeners are taken on an atmospheric journey through the shadows that cloak their world. 
Our circle navigates talents, relationships, and the eerie mysteries of a supernatural tome to collect gear and build trust. Can they maintain discretion and unity while facing the darkness that watches in waiting?
As new alliances form and old tensions fade, the investigators are summoned to the Librum Veritas to unravel secrets hidden in the heart of the Briar Green District. With every roll of the dice and strategic alliance, the line between the familiar and the unknown blurs. Stay vigilant, for in the shadows, ancient truths stir.
Our first full episode of The Circle of Veritas, our Candela Obscura campaign, is now live! In Session 1, our newly-formed Circle is summoned to the bookshop Librum Veritas and sent into their first case: mysterious deaths in a graveyard, sigils of ash and bleed etched into flesh, and rumors of war-dead walking again…
The circle must unravel the truth behind the haunted coin, lost soldiers, and a dark cult on the rise.

Now moving into 13th year, RPGaDAY was launched by David F. Chapman who may be known to you from his work for Cubicle 7 on the long-lived Doctor Who RPG with its innovative Vortex system.
